Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make an impact in a supportive school environment by providing one-on-one interpreting services for a high school freshman throughout the upcoming school year. This full-time contract position starts August 5th and offers the opportunity to facilitate meaningful communication and classroom participation for a student who relies on sign language. Your skills in sign language interpretation will be at the forefront, ensuring the student can fully engage with both peers and educators. The supportive team values dedication and professionalism, fostering a collaborative and respectful atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proficiency in sign language interpretation Experience providing interpreting services in a school setting preferred At least a 3.5 EIPA score required Willingness and eligibility to obtain GaPSC interpreter licensure (assistance with this process can be provided) Ability to work full-time for the duration of the entire school year Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver accurate and effective one-on-one interpreting for a high school freshman in various classroom and school-related settings Support the student's understanding of and participation in classroom activities, lessons, and school events Collaborate with educational staff, paraprofessionals, and other interpreters as needed Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality at all times This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting access to education.
