Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Looking for an impactful contract opportunity near Aurora, CO? Put your skills as a Sign Language Interpreter to work in a full-time, full school year position supporting students across a diverse range of educational settings. This onsite-only, itinerant assignment involves traveling to multiple school sites and collaborating with various teams to ensure students with hearing needs have full access to both special education and general education content, from mild to severe cases.
Qualifications/Requirements:
EIPA score of 3.5 or above is required Proficiency in ASL and the ability to interpret classroom instruction and communications Experience supporting K-12 students preferred Previous work in both SPED (Special Education) and General Education environments a plus Comfortable traveling between multiple schools during the school week Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability Must be able to work onsite
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for students, staff, and families across a range of educational settings Adapt interpreting strategies to accommodate students' language abilities and educational needs, from mild to severe Collaborate with educational teams, including teachers and SPED professionals, to foster inclusive and accessible learning Support student participation in classroom activities, assemblies, and school events Maintain professional standards of confidentiality and ethical interpreting practices Serve as a positive advocate for students with hearing needs Discover a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in students' lives while expanding your experience across various schools.
