Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Calling all skilled Sign Language Interpreters! An exciting contract opportunity awaits you in the heart of Northern California, supporting students in a dynamic K-12 school environment. This onsite position is perfect for interpreters who excel in fostering meaningful one-on-one connections and making a real difference in educational access. Your assignment will run from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, providing consistent, full-time engagement at a singular campus for 35 hours per week. The caseload will be tailored to your experience and preferences, with the chance to support students across various grade levels.
Qualifications & Skills:
Hold active Sign Language Interpreter certification/licensure for California EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is required Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in K-12 education Strong ability to build rapport and support individual student needs in educational settings Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers and staff Professional and reliable approach to daily assignments
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, accurate interpreting services for a designated K-12 student in all instructional and school-related activities Foster inclusivity and facilitate clear communication between student, peers, and staff Adapt interpreting methods based on classroom dynamics and educational content Support the student's individualized education plan (IEP) as directed Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all professional ethical standards This role allows you to grow your professional skills while contributing significantly to student empowerment and inclusive education.
