Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract role as a Sign Language Interpreter, supporting students in grades 4 through 8. Key Qualifications:
EIPA score of 3.5 or higher Advanced proficiency and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) Valid and current interpreter credentials/certifications as required Previous experience in educational settings encouraged, especially with grades 4-8 Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Responsibilities:
Provide accurate, nuanced interpretation between spoken English and ASL for students, teachers, and staff Facilitate communication during classroom instruction, activities, and school events Support the individual communication needs of assigned students in both group and one-on-one settings Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and administration to ensure effective support plans Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times
