Asphalt Laborer

Responsibilities Assist with site preparation including grading, utility locating, and setting up work zones Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, and dump trucks to move materials and prepare surfaces Support paving operations by spreading asphalt and ensuring proper compaction and finishing techniques Maintain safety protocols by inspecting equipment, adhering to safety guidelines, and keeping work areas organized Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently across the construction site Assist with general construction duties including material handling, site cleanup, and equipment maintenance Follow detailed instructions from supervisors to ensure quality standards are met throughout each phase of the project Keeping facilty and equipment maintained properly and in good condition Requirements Prior experience in construction or asphalt paving is highly preferred; familiarity with construction site procedures is a plus Ability to operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks safely and effectively Knowledge of utility locating techniques and safety practices on construction sites Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, lift, and perform manual tasks for extended periods Willingness to learn new skills related to paving and heavy equipment operation Valid driver's license; CDL certification is a plus but not required initially Basic understanding of construction safety standards and protocols

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
