Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role involves working in either the assembly or mulling department to build high-quality window products. You will use hand and power tools to assemble components, install weather stripping, and construct wooden frames so windows are ready for installation in homes. This is a hands-on position on a 10-hour shift where you will stand for most of the day and contribute directly to a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities Assemble window components and install weather stripping in the assembly department. Ensure window seals are tight and properly aligned to meet quality standards. Use small hand tools to perform precise assembly tasks on an assembly line. Work on a production line where each station depends on the work of the previous person. Stand for the full 10-hour shift while performing repetitive assembly tasks. In the mulling department, build wooden frames around windows so they are ready for home installation. Operate power tools and nail guns safely and effectively to construct frames. Read and use a tape measure accurately to ensure correct dimensions and fit. Follow all safety procedures when working with hand tools, power tools, and nail guns. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow production and packaging guidelines. Assist with general production, packing, and packaging tasks as needed. Work independently in the mulling department while meeting production targets. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals. Essential Skills At least 6+ months of previous experience in assembly, construction, landscaping, packaging, or general labor for assembly roles. At least 6+ months of experience using hand tools. At least 6+ months of experience in construction, carpentry, or industrial assembly for mulling roles. At least 6+ months of experience using power tools for mulling roles. Ability to read a tape measure (required for mulling and a plus for assembly). Comfort working on your feet for 10-hour shifts. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions when using hand and power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with nail guns in a production or construction setting. Background in general production, packaging, or general labor. Experience with both hand and power tools in a manufacturing or construction environment. Familiarity with basic construction or carpentry practices. Ability to work independently or as part of an assembly line team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Work Environment This is a full-time role on a first shift schedule, typically working from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of working most Fridays due to current production needs. You will work in a manufacturing facility that can become warm during the summer months and requires standing on your feet for 10-hour days. The environment is a mix of assembly-line work in the assembly department and more independent work in the mulling department, using hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and nail guns. The dress code requires closed-toe tennis shoes or work boots; steel-toed boots are not required. Jeans are required, and shorts and cut-off shirts are not permitted. Safety glasses are provided and required, and ear protection is provided but not mandatory. Employees receive two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch break during the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hayfield, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
