Job Description

Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role assembles and inspects high-quality fitness equipment used in both commercial facilities and home environments. You will work with individual parts and completed units to build products such as treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical cross-trainers, rowers, and strength-training equipment, following established procedures in a collaborative team setting. Responsibilities Assemble fitness equipment and related components by working with individual parts and completed units according to established procedures. Inspect assembled products to verify quality, accuracy, and proper operation before they move to the next stage of production. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform mechanical assembly tasks. Read and follow basic assembly drawings and instructions to ensure correct part placement and assembly sequence. Measure parts and assemblies using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to confirm specifications. Work efficiently on an assembly line in a team environment to meet production goals and timelines. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area. Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on quality and consistency. Lift, move, and position parts and products as needed during the assembly process. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about issues, improvements, or material needs. Essential Skills At least 6 months of general production or general labor experience. At least 6 months of experience using hand and power tools. Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction, to support measuring and counting tasks. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how parts fit and work together. Ability to read and follow basic blueprints or assembly drawings. Ability to use a tape measure accurately. Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for detailed assembly work. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions while maintaining accuracy. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment. Willingness to follow standardized work procedures and quality standards. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally throughout the shift. Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules. Work Environment This is a hands-on production role in a manufacturing environment that can be noisy at times. The position requires standing for extended periods, frequent walking, bending, turning, and repetitive motions throughout the shift. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and work with mechanical components on an assembly line. The role involves occasionally lifting up to 35 lbs. Work hours are typically Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with additional work on Fridays as needed to support production demands. Attire should be appropriate for a manufacturing setting, with closed-toe footwear and clothing suitable for physical work and the safe use of tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
