Job Title:

Truss Assembler Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Truss Assembler for our 2nd shift to join our manufacturing team, specializing in residential and commercial trusses. This role involves working closely with wood components to create high-quality trusses. Responsibilities Assemble trusses by reading and following blueprints displayed on a screen. Set up jigs with robotic pins to correctly position pre-cut wood. Tack plates and use a roller to flatten and finish the product. Read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 of an inch. Utilize a hammer and pneumatic staple gun for assembly. Stand trusses upright in the yard and work with forklift operators. Catch wood off the machine, check angles with a carpenter square, stack on pallets, and label appropriately. Essential Skills Ability to lift 50lbs. Proficiency in reading a tape measure. 6+ months of experience in general labor, manufacturing, production, carpentry, or construction. Score 80% or higher on Basic Industrial Math and Tape Measure test. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with hand and power tools. Work Environment The facility operates Monday to Thursday with varying shift hours for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including occasional Saturdays. The work environment is heated in winter and ventilated in summer. Employees should wear jeans, shorts, T-shirts, and steel-toe shoes. Personal tools required include a framing hammer, hammer holder, and tape measure. The role may require crawling, for which knee pads can be provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasantville, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.59 - $23.59/hr.
