Job Description
Job Title:
Servo Motor Assembler and Tester Job Description This role focuses on assembling and testing servo motors in a factory production environment. You will use hand and power tools to build electronic and mechanical assemblies, follow detailed manufacturing test procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. The position involves working from schematics and mechanical drawings, rotating between workstations as needed, and ensuring that finished products meet quality and labeling standards. Responsibilities Assemble and test servo motors according to manufacturing test procedures and work instructions. Place parts in the correct relationship to each other as sub-assemblies or final assemblies by soldering, using clips, screws, or other fasteners to secure components. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings to perform accurate electronic and mechanical assembly. Use hand tools and power tools to perform assembly, installation, and adjustment of parts and components. Operate machine tools, production tooling, and fixtures to support assembly and production activities. Perform electrical and mechanical assembly tasks, including basic electrical assembly and mechanical assembly of components and sub-systems. Rotate to different workstations based on production needs and support assembly line operations as required. Assist with packaging products into individual boxes and cases and place finished goods on skids for shipment. Inspect and gauge finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Make tooling adjustments as needed to maintain product quality and efficient operation of production equipment. Handle and move supplies, materials, and finished parts safely and efficiently throughout the work area. Verify that outside labels and unit labels match correctly for all packaged parts and products. Perform general labor tasks related to assembly, packaging, and material handling as assigned. Clean equipment and work areas regularly and perform daily and weekly safety checks of equipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing ideas to enhance the manufacturing process. Perform soldering, hand brazing, or induction brazing when required, following appropriate procedures and safety guidelines. Essential Skills Electronic and/or mechanical assembly experience. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings. Experience with machine tool operations and operation of production tooling and fixtures. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly and installation tasks. Ability to inspect and gauge finished parts and make basic tooling adjustments. Capability to follow detailed manufacturing test procedures and work instructions. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle materials safely. Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and perform bending, twisting, and reaching as required by the job. Ability to read, understand, and speak English to follow instructions and safety guidelines. Comfort working in a factory and assembly line environment with running production equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Soldering experience is a plus but not required. Experience with electrical assembly and mechanical assembly in a production environment. Familiarity with pneumatics and related components in an assembly setting. Experience working on an assembly line and rotating between different workstations. Ability to follow work instructions consistently and maintain quality standards. Comfort performing general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment. Interest in contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in production processes. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a factory setting within an assembly line environment where production equipment operates throughout the shift, including associated smells and sounds of running machinery. You will work at various workstations, rotating as production needs change, and use hand tools, power tools, machine tools, and production fixtures on a regular basis. The position requires standing for most of the shift, frequent bending, twisting, and reaching, and handling parts and materials up to 30 lbs. The facility features a newer building with a clean and organized layout designed to support efficient manufacturing and safe operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Ulm, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
