Salary:
$63,791 to $66,791 Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.
General Function:
Supports the Academic Dean in providing leadership and administrative coordination for academic programs within assigned disciplines across all campuses. Assists with curriculum oversight, faculty support, accreditation efforts, and strategic planning to ensure high-quality instruction and continuous improvement in alignment with institutional goals and regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Distilled Spirits, Culinary, Hospitality Management, or Business Administration (MBA). Two (2) years of administrative experience and one (1) year of full-time post-secondary teaching experience, or the equivalent, are required. Candidates must be able to be credentialed in one of the assigned disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree earned from a regionally accredited institution; Three (3) years administrative experience; Two (2) years of experience full time post-secondary teaching or equivalent. Familiarity with curriculum development, assessment processes, and accreditation standards. Must be able to be credentialed in one of the assigned disciplines, with preference given to Hospitality Management or Distilled Spirits, or alternatively in another assigned discipline such as Culinary, Business, Mechatronics, Economics, Computer Science, Medical Office, Engineering, Finance, Management, or Accounting.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Academic Dean with the oversight and coordination of academic programs in assigned disciplines, including curriculum review and revision, course scheduling, and program evaluation. Support the development and implementation of strategies to improve student performance and program outcomes across all campuses. Collaborate with faculty to ensure academic programs meet state, regional, and institutional standards, including SACSCOC and programmatic accreditation requirements. Participate in the development of annual plans and long-range strategies aligned with the institution's strategic plan and Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) initiatives. Aid in the identification and integration of emerging instructional technologies and pedagogical innovations. Support faculty recruitment, credentialing, onboarding, professional development, and performance evaluation processes. Coordinate activities related to program development, program learning outcomes, programmatic assessment, data collection, and reporting for institutional effectiveness and compliance. Serve as a resource for faculty and students by interpreting and enforcing academic policies and procedures; assist with student complaints and grade appeals. Represent the academic division on internal committees and at external meetings, as assigned. Perform other duties as delegated by the Academic Dean.
