Job Description

Status:
Full time, 12-month position, Exempt Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for Athletics, Co-Curriculars, and Equestrian, the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations provides support to the Athletic Program in the following ways: Create and share athletic team rosters both internally and externally. Manage co-curricular sign-ups in Blackbaud. Manage the inventory of athletic uniforms, equipment, and supplies. Oversee ordering, unloading, and organization of practice/game equipment, team gear, coaches gear, etc. Manage distribution, collection, maintenance, and upkeep of team uniforms and gear. Serve as the liaison and primary point of contact between the Athletic Department and Admission Office and College Counseling. Coordinate programming, including workshops and panels, for students and families interested in pursuing college athletics. Organize and plan signing day recognition for student-athletes. Manage and organize the recruiting database in partnership with the Admission Athletics Liaison Communicate effectively on a daily basis with coaches, administrators, staff, and external vendors. Oversee the development and communication of athletic schedules for all teams. Coordinate with Associate Athletic Director for travel and referee logistics Ensure games/events fit within the all-school calendar Assist with game day/event set up and break down for game days. Assist with and attend school and athletic events as needed to represent the Athletic Department. Ensure compliance with all NEPSAC and Founders League rules. Represent the Athletic Department on committees and at various events within the broader school community. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Head of School for Athletics, Co-Curriculars, and Equestrian Coach two-to-three seasons of sports Create social media material to publicize schedules, sporting events, and other news related to the athletic program. Maintain the athletics social media pages with scheduled/planned posts on a day-to-day basis; monitor student-run team pages Organize the student athlete council (EWAC) calendar and assist in curriculum development and implementation. Plan and execute one spirit week each trimester including a pep rally or similar event as a culmination all-community event Advise/Co-advise a group of students as part of our school's advisory program. Work in collaboration with a community that embraces diversity, provides equity, and ensures inclusion and belonging for all. Pursue continuous growth and development in understanding and implementation of diverse and effective coaching, communication, and management practices. Abide by the Faculty/Staff handbook. Other duties as assigned. Prioritizing coaching experience in lacrosse, field hockey, and volleyball.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree; ability to obtain the necessary Connecticut DMV passenger endorsement to drive Student Transport Vehicles; mentoring experience and preferably college guidance or admissions experience; excellent interpersonal and communication skills (especially writing); strong organizational and time management skills; sound judgment and discretion; a sincere desire to advocate for students; a commitment to professional growth; and a sense of humor.
