Home / Jobs / Assistant Athletic Trainer All Open Positions Share Assistant Athletic Trainer Staff (Full Time) Date Posted May 8, 2026 Office Athletics Applications by: Location Main Campus - West St. Louis County Position Summary Missouri Baptist University is looking to hire an Assistant Athletic Trainer who has a vibrant Christian faith. This is a full-time position that supports the health and well-being of athletes through injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and education. This position works closely with the Head Athletic Trainer and the athletic department to ensure athletes receive optimal care. Essential Responsibilities Injury Prevention and Assessment Conduct pre-participation physical examinations and screenings. Develop and implement injury prevention programs. Evaluate athletes' physical conditions and provide appropriate injury assessments. Treatment and Rehabilitation Design and supervise rehabilitation programs for injured athletes. Administer first aid and emergency care as needed. Utilize therapeutic modalities to facilitate recovery. Practice and Game Coverage Provide on-site coverage for practices and games. Ensure the availability of necessary medical equipment and supplies. Respond promptly to athletic injuries during events Documentation and Record Keeping Maintain accurate records of athletes' injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress. Prepare injury reports and communicate effectively with coaches and medical staff. Education and Counseling Educate athletes on injury prevention, nutrition, and overall health. Provide guidance and support to athletes regarding their physical and mental well-being. Conduct workshops and training sessions for athletes and coaching staff.
Minimum Requirements/Certifications/Licensure Bachelor's Degree:
A Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, or a related field is required. Certification university : Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers is mandatory.
State Licensure:
Must have state licensure or be eligible to obtain licensure in the state where the is located.
Practical Experience:
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an athletic trainer, preferably in a collegiate or high school setting. Experience can include internships or clinical rotations completed during an accredited athletic training education program.
Rehabilitation and Treatment:
Hands-on experience in developing and implementing rehabilitation and treatment plans for athletic injuries. Experience with various therapeutic modalities and manual therapy techniques.
Game and Practice Coverage:
Ex perience providing on-site coverage for sports practices and competitions. Ability to manage acute injuries and provide emergency care during athletic events.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Experience in maintaining accurate and detailed medical records and injury reports. Statement of faith that includes a description of a relationship with Jesus Christ, participation in a local church, and a commitment to perform duties in a manner consistent with, and not contrary to, the University's Statement of Faith which is the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Preferred Education/Experience Advanced Degree, specialized certifications, technical skills (electronic medical record systems and other sports performance technology), evidence of ongoing professional development and continuing education in the field of athletic training.
