00104613 (Internal/External) Position Description The assistant athletic trainer reports to the head athletic trainer. The successful candidate is responsible for assisting in the management and of the sports medicine program. Candidate will primarily assist with football and track and field. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to assist with the development of the sports medicine program for VCSU, including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs, and counseling for student-athletes. Assists with home event coverage; some travel may be required; preparation/coverage of practice/competitions. Assists with athletic training room inventory and supplies and maintain medical records. The candidate will supervise VCSU and NDSU students while providing strong leadership and mentoring. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work closely with KHP department faculty for student field experience, and coaching staff. Minimum Qualifications A ba chelor's degree, BOC Certification, and eligibility for ND license are required. Preferred Qualifications A master's degree in Athletic Training or related field, experience working with diverse populations, and experience in providing clinical supervision, instruction, and evaluation of athletic training students are preferred. Compensation $41,000-$46,000 and is commensurate on experience. Paid ND State licensure, NAIA Membership and professional development annually. Optional opportunity to earn extra compensation throughout the year including tournaments and summer camps.
