Assistant Baker

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef, prepares pastries, baked goods, and desserts for retail, farmers' markets, catering, events, weddings, and more Prepares all desserts according to curated recipes and instructions Organizes pastry production in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with health and safety standards Always maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition Complies with standards for personal hygiene and dress code Possesses knowledge of proper operation and maintenance of kitchen tools and equipment Restocks bakery display as needed Assists with FOH operations as needed Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods of time Qualifications At least 1 year of experience working as a pastry cook or baker in a bakery, hotel, restaurant, country club or other similar industry producing pastries, desserts and bread from scratch Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively Working knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance Understand measurements, conversions, and production schedules Comfortable working independently as well as with others Able to finish tasks quickly and efficiently Must be able to provide a pastry portfolio Apply if... you love to bake, you love to interact with guests and serve with care and passion, you are a strong communicator and enjoy working on a team, you are reliable, proactive, and have great attention to detail, you love drinking coffee and sweets you are available for 7 hour shifts, Wednesday through Saturday, 8am-3:30pm, weekends are a must Our highest priority is delivering each guest the best experience through our mad- from-scratch goods, generous hospitality, and eclectic atmosphere.
