Job Description

Position Summary We build things for designers, artists, and builders. We are designers, artists, and builders. We are hiring a Cabinetmaking Assistant. Ideally you've got a couple years in a cabinet shop or a related trade, but we are open to hiring folks with the right aptitude even you don't have the related experience. At the end of the day we are looking for good people. This is a working position with a clear development path. Based on your strengths and interests, we'll develop you toward a specialized role: Cabinetmaker, Finisher, CNC Operator, or Installer. You'll work alongside experienced cabinetmakers on high-end commercial millwork, custom residential projects, and building designer furniture. We are a small crew. Being a supportive, communicative team member is essential. We're looking for long-term team members. Employees are eligible for annual profit sharing after 1 year, based on accumulated tenure credits — the longer you're here, the faster your share grows. Key Responsibilities Assemble frameless and face-frame cabinets from shop drawings Operate shop equipment — sliding table saw, jointer, planer, wide belt sander, air assisted airless sprayer Sand components to specification — flat, consistent, and ready for finish Apply and trim edgebanding Apply finishes by hand and spray Assist with field measurements, site visits, and installation Package and protect completed work for delivery Contribute to a clean and efficient workshop. Always be Knolling. Contribute to a positive, supportive, team-based work environment
Qualifications Required:
Preferred but not required: 2+ years experience in a cabinet shop, millwork shop, or related trade (finish carpentry, furniture making, painting) Comfortable operating standard shop equipment (table saw, miter saw, drill press) Ability to read basic shop drawings Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills Attention to detail Physical strength and stamina for full days of shop work Valid driver's license and reliable transportation High school diploma or equivalent
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate:
$17.00 - $22.50/hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:45
PM Paid Time Off:
80 hours
PTO + 40
hours sick time annually

Profit Share:
Annual profit sharing based on accumulated tenure credits — the longer you're here, the faster your share grows Growth Path Stokes MFG is committed to developing team members into specialized roles. Based on your aptitude and interests, this position has a clear path toward one of four tracks: Cabinetmaker — Independent fabrication of custom cabinetry and furniture from shop drawings Finisher — Full ownership of finishing operations: spray system, stains, water based lacquer, and color matching CNC Operator — Programming and operating CNC equipment for panel processing and custom components Installer — Field installation of custom cabinetry, scribing to site conditions, and direct communication with general contractors Physical Requirements & Work Environment Standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) throughout the workday Exposure to dust, noise, and finishing chemicals with appropriate PPE provided Occasional travel to job sites for installation and field measurements Please submit brief cover letter with your application.
