Overview We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Deli Bakery Management professional to support the daily operations of our deli and bakery departments. This role involves overseeing food preparation, ensuring excellent customer service, managing inventory, and assisting with team supervision. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, culinary experience, and a passion for food service management to help maintain our standards of quality and efficiency. Duties Assist in supervising daily deli and bakery operations to ensure smooth workflow and high standards of food safety and quality. Support food preparation activities, including cooking, slicing, packaging, and presentation of deli and bakery items. Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food handling practices. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS accurately for transactions including cash handling. Train and develop staff members on food safety protocols, customer service excellence, and operational procedures. Assist in shift management by coordinating team schedules and ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours. Contribute to maintaining cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health regulations within the department. Experience Previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment such as quick service restaurants, casual dining, or hotel hospitality management is highly desirable. Proven supervisory or management experience within a restaurant or food industry setting, including team training and development. Hands-on culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques specific to deli and bakery products. Familiarity with inventory control systems and POS technology like Aloha or Micros is preferred. Experience in managing food safety standards, budgeting, and shift operations in hospitality or restaurant management roles. Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to motivate staff and ensure outstanding customer service. Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism in a busy environment.
