Job Description

Assistant Deli Manager The Assistant Deli Manager plays a crucial role in the efficient and profitable operation of our deli. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a strong background in food service, demonstrating exceptional leadership and management skills. The Assistant Deli Manager is expected to oversee daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and driving sales growth. This role involves hands-on involvement in all aspects of deli management, from inventory control to staff training and development. Requires the ability to work any shift, daytime or evenings as well as weekends and holidays we are open. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Deli Manager in all aspects of deli operations, including opening and closing procedures. Supervise and train deli staff, providing coaching and development to enhance performance. Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking products, while minimizing waste. Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints effectively. Participate in scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations. Assist in managing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, focusing on cost control and revenue generation. Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and maintain smooth operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of experience in a food service environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. General knowledge of inventory management and ordering procedures. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations. Food Safety certification.
