Job Description

The Assistant Director, South Slave/Deh Cho Financial and Employee Shared Services provides leadership and oversight for financial and employee shared service operations in the region. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for managing Service Partnership Agreements (SPAs), overseeing financial processing and payroll services, and ensuring compliance with legislation, GNWT policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Assistant Director supports strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while maintaining strong relationships with GNWT departments, agencies, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Manage and administer Service Partnership Agreements (SPAs), including client relations, performance monitoring, and agreement updates. Represent the Department on Regional Management Committees and provide financial leadership. Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards to guide programs and services. Lead and manage regional Financial and Employee Shared Services teams, including supervising managers and supporting staff development. Oversee regional budgets, financial reporting, and variance analysis. Provide strategic and operational advice on financial services, customer service, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure all payroll, benefits, and financial transactions comply with federal and territorial legislation, policies, and GAAP. Key Qualifications Completion of relevant Degree or professional accounting designation. Five (5) years directly related experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
