This part-time position is designed for someone passionate about developing young athletes and fostering a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the girls basketball program, including practice planning, skill development, and game strategy, while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork among student-athletes. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and conducting effective practices and training sessions. Help develop and implement game strategies and skill development programs. Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes to improve their skills and performance. Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and encourage a strong commitment to academics. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations. Assist in organizing and supervising team events, including games, tournaments, and fundraisers. Ensure compliance with all school and athletic department policies and regulations. Attend all scheduled practices, games, and staff meetings as required. Requirements Previous coaching experience or playing experience in basketball at the middle school or high school level preferred. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and coaching techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletic staff, and school administration. Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for practices and games. A background check will be required prior to employment.
