Assistant Manager

Shirt Tales is looking for a Seasonal Assistant Manager to join our team in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard for the 2026 season. We are a busy, family-owned retail store with a fun, fast-paced atmosphere, and we are looking for someone dependable, energetic, and customer-focused to help support daily store operations. Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operations of a high-volume retail store, including opening and closing procedures
• Help supervise, train, schedule, and support a seasonal sales team
• Lead by example on the sales floor and help maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment
• Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience
• Assist with merchandising, restocking, and maintaining overall store presentation
• Receive, process, and organize incoming merchandise
• Handle customer questions and resolve issues in a professional and friendly manner
• Work closely with store management to ensure smooth and efficient operations Qualifications
• Supervisory, keyholder, or leadership experience preferred
• Comfortable taking initiative and making day-to-day decisions independently
• Experience with merchandising, customer service, and general store operations
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
