Assistant Manager

Job Overview Tortorice's Pizzeria is seeking a motivated, dependable Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations in our fast-paced carryout and delivery restaurant. This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, takes pride in consistent food quality, delivers excellent customer service, and can help keep the team operating efficiently during busy shifts. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Owner and Store Manager to support daily operations, staff performance, food quality, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are preferred, but not required. Responsibilities Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations Prepare food and ensure product consistency and quality standards are maintained Take customer orders by phone and in person, process payments, and coordinate carryout/pickup orders Help manage delivery flow and order timing Support opening and closing procedures Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout the restaurant Assist with inventory counts, product rotation, stocking, and ordering Help train, coach, and supervise team members to maintain strong performance and accountability Address customer questions, concerns, and service issues professionally Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Support labor efficiency and help maintain smooth shift operations during high-volume periods Qualifications Previous restaurant, pizzeria, quick-service, or food service leadership experience preferred Prior assistant manager, shift leader, or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to stay calm, organized, and decisive in a fast-paced environment Experience with inventory management and team supervision is a plus Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required Strong attention to detail and commitment to product consistency Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Food Manager / Food Handler certification required (can be obtained after hire if needed) What We're Looking For Someone who: Leads from the front Takes ownership Holds team members accountable Cares about food quality and customer experience Shows up reliably Handles pressure well Wants to grow with the business
