Job Description

Overview The Food and Beverage Assistant Manager will play a critical role in ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests. This position entails overseeing the food and beverage operations and working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to uphold the plantation's standards and objectives. The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing limited personnel functions, including scheduling and training kitchen and service staff, while also coordinating guest meal requirements and dietary needs. A significant part of the role involves purchasing food and beverage supplies, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This position involves working all shifts, including weekends and holidays, and working overtime. To be fair to all applicants, we do require you to complete our company application and complete a background authorization check. Responsibilities Work with the Food and Beverage Manager to assist with staff scheduling and training. Coordinate with Duty Managers regarding guest meal requirements, guest activities, and changes to those plans. Assure compliance with state and local laws and regulations governing the service of alcohol. Communicate special dietary requirements of guests. Purchase food and beverage products as necessary. Perform an inventory count at the end of the month of food and beverage products to maintain adequate levels of stock. Occasionally, transport guests to and from the airport Skills Three years of supervisory experience in food, beverage, and/or lodging operations. Advanced education in the hospitality industry would be a benefit and may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and contact management computer programs. Cooperative attitude and willingness to contribute to the success of all departments and the comfort of the guests. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage diverse staff effectively. Ability to lift and carry over 50 pounds and work standing for long hours in all seasons, both indoors and outdoors. Some Bartending and wine knowledge is a plus.
