This position is located in Brookings . This position is a 9-Month, full-time, tenure-track, benefits-eligible position. The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering prepares students and professionals to address global challenges in agriculture and resource management. The department focuses on areas such as water resources, machine systems, bioenergy, precision agriculture and environmental quality. It aims to advance innovative technologies, improve agricultural productivity and support ecological balance through research, education and outreach programs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The appointment will be 12% teaching and 88% research as part of the Agricultural Experiment Station responsibilities. The successful candidate will develop a nationally recognized program that advances bioseparation/biochemical engineering technologies for bioproducts, value addition to SD commodities, and biomedical applications. This person will develop novel technologies to add value to South Dakota commodities, to crop and forestry residues and byproducts of bioprocessing in our Raven Precision Agriculture Center and scale-up these novel technologies using the commercial scale facilities available in the Bioproducts Institute. In addition, the incumbent will engineering principles in working with sustainable circular food systems. This position will require close working relationships within the Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering Department, all faculty and staff on campus involved in food, bioprocessing, bioproducts institute and other departments on the SDSU campus, government agencies, commodity associations, granting agencies, and other Universities.BENEFITS

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline by date of appointment. Ability to present and publish research results. Ability to secure extramural funding. Relevant teaching experience. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Midwest or Great Plains agricultural production practices. Experience in bioprocessing, and bioproducts research areas. Ability or potential to mentor and support graduate students.APPLICATION PROCESS
