Assistant Plant Manager

Assistant Plant Manager Job Summary:

The Assistant Plant Manager plays a key role in overseeing plant operations, supporting production goals, ensuring safety standards, and collaborating across departments. This position serves as a second-in-command to the Plant Manager, with leadership duties spanning production, post production, and personnel development.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and coordinate daily precast production schedules Troubleshoot production issues and provide hands-on support to teams Ensure product quality standards are consistently met Enforce all safety policies and OSHA regulations across the plant Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe practices throughout the facility Assist in managing raw material inventory and usage Optimize material flow and staging areas to minimize delays Supervise production leads and hourly workforce Support training and development of new and existing employees Maintain accountability, attendance, and performance standards Notifies the maintenance department of equipment problems. Support equipment maintenance and preventative programs Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and QC teams to resolve issues Assist the Plant Manager in data reporting, allocating personnel resources, and continuous improvement Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or construction Experience in precast concrete or similar industrial manufacturing environments Comfortable with digital systems, spreadsheets, and production software Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently required to stand and walk. Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. May require traveling 25% of the time.
