Job Description

Vitakraft Sun Seed, Inc has an immediate opening for an Assistant Supervisor in Weston, OH. The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Shift Supervisor in overseeing production activities, ensuring safety, quality, training and productivity on the manufacturing floor. This role involves leading production operators and support personnel to meet production goals while maintaining a focus on safety protocols, operational efficiency, and quality standards. Responsibilities:
Promote and enforce safety practices, including equipment handling, lifting techniques, and the use of safety devices. Train team members on lifting techniques, machine safety, and use of safety devices (E-stops, light curtains). Monitor production flow, address inefficiencies, and support quick, accurate changeovers. Ensure quality standards and GMP compliance, including packaging integrity and accurate labeling. Maintain inventory of raw materials and supplies to avoid production delays. Support startup checks, shift coordination, and machine adjustments to reduce downtime. Enter accurate production data and assist with quality/process audits. Uphold 5S principles and identify pest control or safety concerns. Support employee training, coaching, and performance discussions. Collaborate with HR, Maintenance, and Scheduling teams to drive improvements.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a production team leadership role is required. Formal leadership training or relevant supervisory experience. Familiarity with PPE & sanitation guidelines and general safety protocols. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and VKSS-specific systems. Excellent communication skills to interact with operators, support personnel, and management. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control standards in manufacturing settings. Experience in managing production schedules, quality assurance, and operational efficiency. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, allergens and varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Forklift certification is preferred.
