Assistant Production Supervisor

Dairyfood USA, Inc., a SQF level 3 certified market leader in specialty cheese production for over 70 years, is currently seeking an Assistant Production Supervisor to provide leadership, supervision and direction to Production personnel on 1st shift. Based in our production facility in the heart of America's Dairyland, Blue Mounds, WI, this position reports to the Production Supervisor. Bilingual skills are highly desired, but not required.

Primary Job Functions:

Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of the overall manufacturing effort. Aid in the training and development of new employees for all Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, work instructions and quality plans as they pertain to production department personnel and processes. Effectively solve problems on the line to minimize downtime and expedite the work. Follow and enforce all safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe work area, machine operation and working environment. Make recommendations on process or quality improvements. Be present in the plant in a proactive, helpful manner to ensure processes are aligned and functioning at expected levels. Provide on time, reliable data to Production Management on quality, downtime, rework, and equipment problems. Support the continuous achievement and maintenance of all process quality standards, formulation requirements and product and packaging specifications. Ensure compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations relating to food plant sanitation and the environment. Responsible for implementing and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Provide coaching and performance feedback to production employees. Serves as a back-up to the Production Supervisor Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

A high school diploma or the equivalent A minimum of 5 years of production experience, including leadership responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

An Associate's degree in food science, engineering, business administration or other food processing related areas of study A minimum of 8 years of production experience, including leadership responsibilities
