Job Description

The Department of Nursing at Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a tenure-track professorship in nursing. We seek faculty members with outstanding qualifications who share the University's core values of high standards of excellence in innovative and collaborative research and demonstrate a commitment to health equity in education. The successful candidate will teach both core and research courses, integrate interdisciplinary approaches, promote empirical research in leadership and Nursing. This position is for a 9-month appointment with 12 credit load hours per semester anticipated to begin in Fall 2026 for the Seguin campus location. Required Qualifications Terminal degree in nursing or related field (Doctoral candidates with appropriate assurances of completion date may be considered) and an earned Master's Degree in Nursing. Hold a current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas Evidence of at least two years of clinical expertise in public/community health, leadership, mental health/psychiatric nursing, obstetrical, and/or medical-surgical nursing to inform teaching, curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver high-quality instruction in accelerated courses using evidence-based pedagogy, simulation, and inclusive teaching practices. Evaluate student achievement of competencies; provide timely, developmental feedback and document outcomes. Lead and sustain clinical partnerships; support preceptors and evaluate site quality to ensure clinical outcomes. Mentor student capstone and quality improvement projects; ensure ethical and IRB compliance; support dissemination. Advance a focused scholarship agenda; publish and pursue internal or external funding. Contribute to curriculum design, program assessment, and accreditation; implement continuous quality improvement. Serve in shared governance within nursing and across the university through committee work and service.
