The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support the execution of commercial construction projects with a focus on mission critical projects, with a strong emphasis on field operations and jobsite coordination as it relates to framing, drywall, and more. This role works closely with the Field Superintendent to help drive project progress, ensure quality and safety standards, and maintain schedule and budget alignment. The APM will spend significant time in the field supporting daily operations, acting as a key link between the jobsite and office, while developing the skills needed to grow into a Project Manager role.Responsibilities:
Support the Field Superintendent in the day-to-day execution of projects, with a strong presence on the jobsite Assist in coordinating field activities including manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors Monitor jobsite progress and help ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and schedule Promote and reinforce the company's safety culture by actively participating in jobsite safety efforts and observations Serve as a liaison between field teams and the office to ensure clear communication and timely issue resolution Assist with layout verification, material tracking, and coordination of deliveries to maintain workflow Track and help manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports Participate in jobsite meetings and assist in documenting key updates and action items Support schedule updates and help identify potential delays or conflicts in the field Assist with project cost tracking by verifying field quantities, labor productivity, and material usage Help identify and communicate field issues, risks, and constructability concerns, working with leadership to develop solutions Support preconstruction efforts as needed, including takeoffs and scope reviews, with a practical field perspective Travel regularly between job sites to support ongoing projectsRequirements, Skills & Qualifications:
This is a project-specific role based onsite in Miami, TX, with an expected duration of 1-3 years; upon project completion, opportunities may be available to continue with the company in a travel-based capacity for future projects. 1-3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or a related field (internship experience applicable); mission critical experience preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required Basic knowledge or strong interest in light gauge framing and drywall systems Proficiency in software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (or willingness to learn) Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving Willingness to learn and grow into a Project Management role Must be willing to travel between job sites Valid Driver's License required Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plusBenefits:
