Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall management of new construction multi-family framing and trim projects to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and per specifications.
Core Responsibilites:
Project Coordination & Documentation Maintain and update project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, change orders, and as-built records. Track and organize project files to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for field and office teams. Ensure project documentation is current and properly communicated to Superintendents and field staff. Scheduling & Progress Tracking Support the Project Manager in maintaining project schedules and milestone tracking. Coordinate daily and weekly updates between field teams and project leadership. Track material delivery dates and confirm readiness for upcoming work phases. Cost & Financial Support Track project costs against approved budgets. Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and alignment with approved scope. Assist the Project Manager with monthly job cost reports and internal financial tracking. Escalate discrepancies or concerns to the Project Manager for resolution. Vendor & Material Coordination (Execution-Focused) Coordinate material deliveries, lead times, and logistics based on the approved buyout and project schedule. Serve as a point of contact for vendors regarding delivery timing, quantities, and site coordination only. Direct all pricing questions, cost changes, and scope negotiations to the Estimator or Project Manager. Support field teams by ensuring materials arrive when needed and issues are flagged early. Communication Document meetings, distribute recaps, and track action items. Maintain clear, professional communication between field staff, office teams, Project Managers, and Superintendents. Foster collaborative relationships while reinforcing role clarity and escalation paths.
Skills & Qualifications:
• 1 - 3 years of experience in multi-family construction Experience in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project, Excel) Knowledge of construction methods, materials and industry standards Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret project documents; contracts, scopes of work, blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, subcontract bids, etc. Strong organizational and time-management abilities
