Job SummaryTheRegional ReplenishmentCenter(RRC)Assistant Manageris responsible forassistingtheRRC Manager in managing the operation at one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carry multiple brands of equipment,partsand supplies.
The goal of this role is to successfully manage the daily operations specific to receiving, put away, team building, coaching, accurately shipping all shipments, and the overall standards of the floor and rackingie: product is flush to the line and/or the racks, product is allocated in the proper zone, items a accurately being received in the correct locations, consolidation andreplenishmentsare being practiced daily, etc. all while continuously improving service and reducing errors. The role of the Assistant Manager is that of a workingmanagerand you must lead by example by setting the bar and proving that it can be met.
Essential Duties/AccountabilitiesSupervise all daily functions of theregional replenishmentcenter; focused onin-boundandout-boundshipments, put-away andreplenish.
Walking the warehouse daily, focusing onidentifyingobstacles and opportunities that mayhave an effect onthe daily operationAuditing all shipments before they ship. Inspecting to ensure correct items are being shipped, quantities shipped, and potential damages.
EliminatingVariances altogether.
Researchingany missing items to minimize locked locations andkeepingour fill rate up.
Communicating with theRRC manager as well as with the Branch if there is any issue with their shipment.
Maintain a professional demeanor with vendors, fellow employees, servicecentersand all other individuals you may interact with.
Responsible formaintaininga24 hourreceipt process. Focused on ensuring all receipts are checked against paperwork, received into thesystemand put-away within 24 hours of receipt. Having a close relationship with the Support Specialist and the Inventory Control specialist to ensure that all issues within-boundshipments are addressed promptly.
Responsible for ensuring anydamages, shortages and overages are correctly notated and processed into our system.
Working with accounts payable and vendors to fix reoccurring issuesand alsoensure no errors occur at time of receipt.
Responsible for daily responses to our service centers. Focused on working with service centers when service levels are missed, product issues (shortages, damages, etc.), lead-time adjustments based onholidaysas well as responding to daily service center requests.
Responsible for managing our flow of inbound shipments. Working with carriers to adjust delivery times, appointmentschedulesand volume throughout the season.
Direct andparticipatein the bin location maintenance of all areas of the distribution center.
Focused on slotting, consolidation,minand max maintenance, pick sequencing and reorganizingCoordinate Distribution Center training and Company/Center events.
Responsible for reports and reporting processes:
Locked locationsUnposted receiptsItems on MU'sHD/WM out of balanceOpen ASNsRebalance transfersReplensTransfer variancesEnsure warehouse equipment including but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, wrap machines, etc. aremaintainedon a regular basis.
Communicate and train Warehouse personnel on Company policies and safety procedures.
Ensuring all employees are working in a safe manner when handlingproduct, moving throughout the warehouse or using Company equipment.
Ensure there are no distractionsie: no cell phones,ear pieces, etc. on theRRC Floor.
Communicate with daily meetings to the team on what the expectations are for the day and where we are throughout the day to reach our goals.
Follow up with all associates on their assigned tasks and hold them accountable whenrequired.
Ensure proper training of personnel, specific to handlingproduct. All employees should be trainedonhow much and howproductshould be picked and packed, in an effort to eliminate product damage.
Responsible formonitoringdaily damage andmaintainingour damage pending listsWorking with service centers and corporate to help move damaged productFollow up with all associates and know what everyone is doing and where they are at all times.
Ensure breaks, lunches, and restroom breaks are not being abusedConduct him/herself in a professional and courteous manner in all aspects of interaction with contractors,customersand employees.
Responsible for recruiting, hiring,trainingand leading a diversified work force.
Responsible for rewarding exceptional performance as well as holding employees accountable for daily performance targets, ensuring progressive disciple is conducted fairly when targets are missed.
Responsible for managing daily productivity99.9%RRC fill rateTarget better pick to error ratio dailyMaintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, focused on daily sanitation including breakroom and restroom sanitation.
Bringing down shippingcostwhenpossibleby maximizing your truckloads when it is safe to do so as well as avoidingdamages.
Ensuring that all shipments are properly billed and tracked before shipping.
Completing all ofdashboardbefore the end of the day.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDrequired.
Bachelor's Degree in Businessor related field preferred.
Minimum5+yearsoperational experience within the wholesale/distribution/logisticsindustryrequired. Experiencepreferably in the operations of a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house.
Experience in shipping,logistics, operations,warehousingand inventory managementrequired.
Experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements preferred.
Experience leading a large team within a distribution centeris preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, including sales, problem‑solving, and customer service.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g.,Word, Excel, Outlook).Ability to manage and mentor employees whileestablishingand achieving the distribution center's business goals.
SkillsEffective written and verbal communication.
Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external groups at all levels.
