OF DUTIES
Provides leadership, assistance, and supervision for the efficient operation of all services involving personnel/human resources, strategic operations, board policy & records. Provides supervision to directors, coordinators, and staff in the instructional & student services divisions, and is responsible for their ongoing development. Serves as secondary instructional supervisor and personnel director.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Must have no convictions of a felony or past criminal history, be in good health as evidenced by completion of a physical examination as prescribed by the Board. Must be of good character and moral behavior; Administrative Certification for Superintendent 2-3 years of district-level administrative experience; Must have demonstrated project management, budgetary, and people skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and coordinates all aspects of the following areas: Personnel & Human Resources Functions including - Certification Health Ins./Benefits FLMA Act Workers' Comp Personnel Files Policies/ Procedures Substitute Teacher & Instructor III Program Job Descriptions Applications/On-Line Job Site/Electronic On-Boarding Certified Evaluation Process Recruitment, retention, & personnel functions for certified staff, including the Induction & Mentoring Program Responsible for All Board Policy and Procedure Development & Revision Responsible for Records Retention Leads Strategic Planning Plans Leadership development including - Summer Seminar, Opening Day, and Leadership Cohort Directs Board Recognition Program Coordinates with Division of Curriculum & Instructional for planning & supervision of Secondary Curriculum Resource Teachers, Instructional Coordinators for CTE, Assessment and other instructional programs Works With Directors on Issues Related to Their Assigned Areas of Responsibility Investigates Citizen/Parent Complaints, as Needed Investigates Personnel Misconduct, as Needed Attends Meetings on Behalf of the Superintendent, as Directed Evaluates Central Office Directors, Building Principals, and Other Staff as Assigned Works Closely with Superintendent & Finance Officer on Budget & Related Issues Supervises Administrative Assistant and other department staff Performs other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Will be required to complete all required training and attend in-service sessions. Performs assigned tasks in a timely manner. Consistently displays self-control with parents, students and school personnel. Maintains a clean workstation (bus, desk, office, etc.) and does maintenance as needed. Be clean, neat and appropriately dressed. Be consistently responsible and display an attitude of honesty and credibility Show enthusiasm, interest and concern for the total program and its efficient operation. Maintains student control. Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times. Demonstrate positive behavior toward the purposes and goals of the Barren County Public Schools. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Work year is comprised of 185 days with 55 extended days as designated by board policy. Salary commensurate with adopted certified personnel salary schedule. Sick leave and personal leave provided as stated in board policy.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
