  • Full-time Overview The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, educational, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.
This role assists with classroom management, daily routines, supervision, educational activities, sanitation, and maintaining compliance with Texas Minimum Standards and center policies. Key Responsibilities Classroom Support Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation Help maintain appropriate classroom ratios at all times Supervise children during play, meals, rest time, transitions, and outdoor activities Encourage positive behavior and age-appropriate social development Support potty training and self-help skills when applicable Safety & Supervision Ensure children are supervised and safe at all times Follow all emergency preparedness and safety procedures Report incidents, injuries, illnesses, or concerns to administration immediately Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff Cleaning & Organization Sanitize toys, tables, cots, and classroom materials daily Assist with meal service and classroom cleanup Keep classrooms neat, organized, and licensing compliant Communication Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and administration Notify Lead Teacher or management of behavioral concerns or classroom needs Participate in staff meetings and required trainings Compliance & Professionalism Follow Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards Complete all required annual training hours on time Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and reliability Follow center dress code and phone/device policies Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous childcare experience preferred but not required Must pass background check and meet state licensing requirements CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Must be dependable, patient, energetic, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Ability to sit on floor, bend, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the day Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures Schedule Full-time or part-time positions available Must be flexible with opening and closing shifts as needed Performance Expectations Arrive on time and prepared for each shift Maintain positive interactions with children and families Follow classroom schedules and center expectations Work collaboratively with all team members
