Role:
West Michigan Pallet Management is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to support and enhance our daily operations in Byron Center, MI . This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you'll help lead our warehouse team, manage inventory control, and maintain high standards of productivity and safety. We're looking for someone with strong leadership skills, logistics knowledge, and the ability to communicate clearly and solve problems effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse activities Supervise and assist with inventory control and stock movement Operate hi-lo (forklift) and other warehouse equipment Monitor receiving, shipping, order picking and quality control Schedule and coordinate team workflow Communicate with internal teams to resolve operational issues Lead by example to maintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment Train and supervise warehouse staff Overtime as needed to ensure work is completed
Qualifications:
Experience in warehouse operations and logistics Proven supervisory or leadership experience Hi-lo/forklift operation experience required Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and hands on environment Bi-Lingual is preferred but not necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, lift and operate equipment for extended periods Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
