Position Summary MC Consultants is seeking an Associate Consultant in Accident Reconstruction to join our forensic engineering practice. This early-career role is designed for engineers with strong technical fundamentals who are motivated to develop into expert accident reconstructionists through hands-on investigations, structured mentorship, and progressive responsibility. The Associate Consultant works under the guidance of Lead Experts and regional leadership, supporting accident reconstruction analyses while developing technical, analytical, reporting, and professional communication skills. Location is flexible across MC offices nationwide based on team needs and candidate location. At MC Consultants, we emphasize learning, teamwork, balance, and long-term career growth. This role is a prime opportunity to transition technical education into real world forensic consulting experience. Core Responsibilities Technical Support and Analysis Support forensic investigations involving motor vehicle collisions, trucking incidents, pedestrian and bicycle accidents, and other dynamic events Participate in scene and vehicle inspections, including measurements, documentation, and evidence evaluation Assist with analysis of collision dynamics including speed determination, momentum analysis, delta-v estimation, time-distance studies, and event sequencing Support EDR data review and analysis under supervision Review and organize police reports, photographs, video, site documentation, and other case materials Reporting and Communication Perform calculations and technical analyses under the supervision of senior experts Assist with preparation of figures, diagrams, animations, and demonstrative exhibits Contribute to technical sections of expert reports under supervision Mentorship, Development, and Career Growth Work closely with Lead Experts and National Practice Team to develop reconstruction methodology and best practices Participate in internal training, technical review meetings, and continuing education Progressively assume greater responsibility with the goal of advancing toward a testifying expert role Geographic and Travel Scope Location may vary within the United States depending on MC office needs Travel required for inspections and training, typically moderate and planned with mentorship in mind Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical or Biomechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited University Strong interest in accident reconstruction and forensic consulting Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel for field work and investigations Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in an engineering discipline or intent to pursue advanced education Prior exposure to vehicle dynamics, accident analysis, or forensic engineering Experience with photogrammetry, videogrammetry, or collision simulation tools Ability to pursue ACTAR certification, PE licensure, and/or additional certifications in the future.
