Associate Dean of Instruction

Job Summary The Associate Dean of Instruction, provides support and oversight for assigned instructional programs and works collaboratively to identify and implement emerging opportunities relative to new programs, under the direction of the Dean of Instruction. The Associate Dean is responsible for assigned aspects of program success, which may include recruiting, marketing, scheduling, equipping, staffing, funding, program contracts, planning, assessment, activities, accreditation, and compliance. This position is a highly visible educational manager in the college, district high schools, community, and business/industry, related to the areas of responsibility. There are two openings, one in the ACSS/MS Division and one in the BTE Division.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Manage a team of part-time, non CBA staff, which includes: Overseeing daily operations and guiding team members to ensure productivity and efficiency. Conducting regular check-ins and delivering constructive feedback. Addressing and resolving team conflicts or issues promptly. Ensuring compliance with college policies, procedures, and regulation. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to FERPA and institutional policies. Manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Proficient in software systems, such as Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment; comfortable learning new technologies as needed. Proficient in using educational technologies and learning management systems to support instructional delivery, training, and administrative functions. Provide exceptional support and assistance to students, staff, and community members with empathy and professionalism. Required Qualifications Master's degree or relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree. Higher education teaching. Preferred Qualifications Community college teaching experience. Physical Demands Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds with proper equipment; reasonable accommodations available. Light physical activity required; must be able to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in various formats. Primarily daytime hours with some evening and weekends to support College events and initiatives.
