We've built our practice around a simple premise: exceptional clinical care and a genuinely warm patient experience are inseparable. Our team is made up of Kois- and Spear-trained providers who take their craft seriously, invest continuously in advanced training, and hold themselves to a high standard in every interaction — clinical, interpersonal, and operational. We are growing thoughtfully and are looking to add an Associate Dentist who shares our commitment to clinical excellence, patient care, and continuous improvement to our San Francisco office. About the role As an Associate Dentist at Zen Dental Studio, you'll deliver comprehensive general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry to a loyal and growing patient base. You'll work alongside experienced clinicians, benefit from structured mentorship in advanced procedures, and have the time and tools to practice the kind of dentistry you're proud of..
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing comprehensive examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning across general, restorative, and cosmetic cases Delivering high-quality clinical care including direct and indirect restorations, fixed and removable prosthodontics, and cosmetic procedures Providing Invisalign treatment from case selection through completion Performing endodontic procedures (proficiency strongly preferred) Communicating clearly and compassionately with patients about diagnoses, treatment options, and expectations Collaborating with hygienists, assistants, and front-office team members to ensure a seamless patient experience Participating in case reviews, team huddles, and ongoing clinical calibration with senior providers Maintaining thorough, accurate clinical documentation What we're looking for We're seeking a clinician who combines technical proficiency with the personal qualities that define excellent care.
Clinical qualifications:
DDS or DMD from an accredited dental program Active California dental license in good standing Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience Strong proficiency in diagnosis and comprehensive treatment planning Demonstrated experience in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, including Invisalign Proficiency in endodontics is highly desirable Comfort with modern clinical technology (digital workflows, intraoral scanning, CBCT interpretation) Personal qualities: Patient-centric to the core — you genuinely care about each patient's experience and well-being, and you treat every appointment as an opportunity to build trust Detail-oriented and thorough — you don't leave questions unanswered or follow-ups forgotten A growth mindset — you actively pursue continuing education, welcome feedback, and look for ways to refine your clinical skills and patient communication Kind, humble, and compassionate — these qualities show up in how you treat patients, colleagues, and support staff alike High personal integrity — you understand that trust is earned slowly and protected carefully Composure under pressure — you thrive in a busy environment without compromising on warmth, accuracy, or quality What we offer We believe in investing in the people who invest in us. Beyond a competitive compensation and benefits package — which we'll tailor thoughtfully to the right candidate — you can expect: Clinical environment: State-of-the-art technology, including iTero intraoral scanners, digital radiography, and CBCT imaging Highest-rated restorative materials and modern clinical workflows A skilled, tenured support team of hygienists and assistants Adequate appointment times that allow you to practice without rushing Professional growth: Mentorship from senior dentists with deep expertise in advanced clinical methods Reimbursement for continuing education courses, including Kois, Spear, and other advanced programs Structured opportunities for clinical calibration, case review, and skill development A clear path for expanding your scope of practice over time Culture and team: A collaborative team that values craft, kindness, and accountability in equal measure Leadership that listens — we welcome input on how to make the practice better A workplace that takes patient care and team well-being seriously If there's something meaningful to you that isn't listed here, we want to know. We hold a very high bar for excellence and are willing to make real accommodations for the right candidate.
