Job Description

The Associate Director will play an important role within the admission office, contributing to the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of students who will thrive at Woodberry Forest School. This individual will work closely with colleagues to ensure a thoughtful, personalized, and mission-aligned experience for prospective families throughout the admission process. Responsibilities will include prospect management, application review, family engagement, and admission travel. The Associate Director will also partner with colleagues across campus to support key aspects of the admission program and ensure that all interactions with prospective families reflect the warmth, clarity, and values of the Woodberry community. In addition to core admission responsibilities, the Associate Director will hold defined areas of responsibility and contribute to broader institutional efforts in support of enrollment and community engagement. Specific areas of focus may include, but are not limited to: Management of prospective student and family engagement from inquiry through enrollment Coordination and execution of campus visits and admission-related programming Collaboration on communications and outreach strategies Participation in the planning and execution of on-campus and virtual events Engagement with parent and alumni networks in support of admission efforts Participation in the tuition assistance process, including serving on the tuition assistance committee The scope of the role will evolve over time in alignment with institutional priorities and the strengths of the individual. Woodberry Forest School is one of the nation's premier independent boarding schools for boys. Located on 1,200 beautiful acres in Madison County, Virginia, near Charlottesville and Washington, DC, Woodberry is an all-residential school. Woodberry enrolls approximately 400 students from the United States and abroad. Since its founding in 1889, Woodberry Forest has become recognized internationally as a leader in the education of boys. Students are carefully selected from an outstanding group of strong applicants. Woodberry maintains a generous financial aid program with forty-seven percent of students receiving aid, totaling over $7 million.
