Work Schedule Monday to Friday business hours Sensitive Position Yes Job Description General Description The Associate Director of ERP Development provides strategic and technical leadership for the design, development, and maintenance of the institution's custom development ecosystem, centered around the ERP. This position oversees custom development, integrations, cloud ERP extensions, and modernization initiatives to ensure systems meet evolving academic, administrative, and regulatory needs, and translate those needs into achievable technical scope. The Associate Director leads a team of developers, establishes development standards and lifecycle governance, and partners closely with functional stakeholders to translate complex business needs into secure, scalable, and sustainable technical solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the technical design, development, testing, and deployment of ERP enhancements across functional areas such as Student, Human Resources, and Finance. Lead and manage custom development within and alongside the ERP environment, including data pipelines, custom people code and modernization efforts across on‑premises and cloud platforms. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate developers, ensuring high‑quality output and adherence to development standards. Partner with functional stakeholders to translate business processes into scalable technical solutions within the ERP ecosystem. Ensure security, compliance, auditability, and institutional policy alignment for all customizations and integrations. Provide leadership in planning and executing testing for major upgrades, cloud migrations, and integration modernization. Participate in strategic planning for enterprise systems and contribute to budgeting, staffing, and vendor relationship management. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications KSAs Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and technical leadership for large-scale, enterprise ERP ecosystems supporting complex academic and administrative environments, including distributed presentation, application, and database architectures across on‑premises and cloud platforms. Extensive knowledge of ERP technologies, relational databases, and integration patterns, including strong proficiency in SQL and experience with legacy and modern development languages and tools such as COBOL, Java, JavaScript, XML, and related middleware and API frameworks. Expertise in ERP integration technologies and methodologies, including APIs, component interfaces, messaging frameworks, integration brokers, and data pipelines to support interoperability with cloud services and external systems. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance, scalability, and functional issues related to customizations, delivered ERP functionality, database logic, and legacy integrations. Strong leadership skills in planning, managing, and executing technical initiatives associated with ERP implementations, major upgrades, cloud migrations, and modernization efforts, ensuring alignment with institutional strategy and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and evaluate development teams, fostering high-quality engineering practices, adherence to development standards, and ongoing professional growth across multiple programming languages and technologies. Experience partnering with functional and business stakeholders to translate institutional policies and business processes into secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions within an ERP ecosystem. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to manage data integrity, resolve data conflicts, and leverage technology to improve service delivery and operational outcomes. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, work independently under pressure, and consistently meet deadlines while managing multiple initiatives and stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, architectural decisions, and policy implications to technical and non‑technical audiences. Strong PC and office productivity skills, supporting effective documentation, communication, planning, and executive-level reporting. Minimum Qualifications Experience leading or supervising technical development teams Technical development experience, including any of the following: scripting, data integrations, event driven APIs, Rest APIs, ETLs, or JSON. Experience aligning technical solutions with complex business needs. Experience developing in any of the following languages: PS-SQL/T-SQL, Oracle Development Tools, PeopleTools, SQR, Java, Java Script, and XML, Python, C-sharp.

Extensive management experience at an enterprise level. Experience designing and developing customizations and integrations within large higher‑education environments. Demonstrated experience with Peoplesoft Campus Solutions or Oracle Fusion Ability to translate functional requirements into scalable and secure technical designs. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and functional stakeholders. Experience working in a higher education‑education environment.
