Job Summary The primary functions of the ED Associate are to welcome patients as they enter the ED, determine the nature of the visit, advise them of next steps, and obtain all demographic and insurance information. This position must ensure accurate and timely medical record completion in accordance with Joint Commission standards, Department of Health (DOH) rules and regulations, and medical staff bylaws. This position requires frequent contact with patients, medical staff, third party payers and community agencies. Qualifications High School or equivalent Required 1-3 years medical office experience with frequent customer interaction Required Previous patient registration or patient accounting experience preferred. Preferred Ability to read, write, and communicate in English required. Ability to also communicate in Spanish a plus. Basic computer skills required. Must complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training on a bi-annual basis. Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall is an equal employment opportunity employer.
