Associate, Quality I

Job DescriptionThe Quality Associate works within the Ferdinand Quality System, using analysis and statistical techniques, to assist in the continual improvement of the manufacturing processes. This individual will also assist in solving problems, controlling variables, and providing candid & accurate feedback that are critical to quality. This position is on dayshift at our Ferdinand, Indiana facility.

Organizational Relationship:

This position will report to the area Superintendent.

Accountabilities:

Actively participate in the Layered Process Audits and work towards resolution of open itemsInteracts with Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and Engineering in the identification and resolution of product quality problemsInteracts with internal and external customers to resolve quality problemsParticipate in the Customer Complaint AnalysisLead and track daily/weekly operational metrics (X-Rite readings, PPM, QA boards, NorthStar, OOCA, OBKA, color checks, etc.)Lead and record activities for Quality Round Table meetings (Bi-Weekly)Visit customers at job sites as requiredPeriodically review specifications and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) etc. for accuracy and revisionsSupport Ferdinand Operation employees as needed to interpret specifications and solve problemsSupport the Ferdinand Quality System by performing tasks to ensure compliance and initiate continuous improvement of the systemProvide accurate information and feedback to all Business Units and Ferdinand Operations Leadership TeamProvide training/coaching on quality related issues to Ferdinand production associates and management Lead and/or participate in Kaizen improvement eventsGenerate, modify, and complete Standard Operating Sheets (SOS)Report out on projects using the A3 project management process / formatAll other duties as may be assigned at management's discretion

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 Ability to apply and interpret statistical dataComputer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) requiredMust be a team player with strong written and verbal communication skillsMust have the ability to actively initiate, lead, and participate in problem solving activitiesMust be able to give candid feedback and report findings of non-compliance to the Ferdinand Quality System Ability to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilitiesMust have the ability to deliver a formal project status presentation to MBCI LeadershipTwo years' experience within a manufacturing environment preferred 

Education:
