Job Description

Associate Veterinarian Tempus Veterinary Recruitment New Britain, PA Job Details Full-time Up to $150,000 a year 11 hours ago Benefits Continuing education credits Dental insurance Paid time off Uniform allowance Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Veterinary License Full Job Description Introduction Our client is a privately owned hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The clinic currently sees dogs and cats exclusively, although they are open to expanding services into other species should a veterinarian wish to introduce this into the practice. The hospital offers a very flexible approach to scheduling and works closely with doctors to create a schedule that suits both the veterinarian and the needs of the hospital. The environment is easy going while remaining fast paced, with the team seeing urgent care and emergency cases that come through the door, referring cases externally when the hospital is not equipped to manage them. Role Description and Responsibilities The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care to small animal patients. Daily responsibilities include performing routine examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, carrying out surgical and dental procedures, interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications. The role also involves educating clients on preventative healthcare, nutrition, and treatment options, maintaining accurate medical records, monitoring hospitalized patients, and working collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure exceptional patient care and client service. The hospital offers a flexible approach to doctor scheduling and is willing to tailor hours around what works best for both the veterinarian and the practice. The role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. With a college located nearby, the team is experienced in teaching, mentoring, and supporting newly qualified veterinarians as they develop their clinical confidence and skills. Practice Details The hospital is equipped with ultrasound, digital and dental radiography, in-house bloodwork capabilities, and operates as a paperless practice. Facilities include five exam rooms and a treatment suite that is currently being updated. Services offered include wellness care, surgery with the support of a visiting orthopedic surgeon, ultrasound, and health certificates. The hospital also actively encourages veterinarians to pursue their individual interests and integrate additional services or areas of passion into the practice where appropriate. Appointments are typically scheduled for 30 minutes, with euthanasia appointments allocated 45 minutes. The hospital is happy to adjust appointment times when necessary and works collaboratively with veterinarians to ensure they can practice at a pace they feel comfortable with. Team The team currently consists of one DVM supported by veterinary assistants. Each doctor is supported daily by two assistants, with one assisting directly and the other acting as a scribe. The environment is supportive and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on mentoring and ensuring veterinarians have the support they need to provide excellent patient care.
