Position Summary Assist and support the development of an infrastructure for recruitment and retention plan directed at solidifying a solid roster of quality student-athletes. Assist with the cultivation of a recruiting plan to support the University's Strategic Plan as directed by the head coach. The assistant coach has considerable secondary responsibility in successfully developing a solid roster of quality students that will represent the University in a positive way in the community; at the same time supporting and encouraging a community outreach attitude in advancing of the university Strategic Plan. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Assist and support in the promotion of the educational values of athletics consistent with the educational values of the University as outlined in the University and Athletic Department Mission Statement. Assist in implementing and managing all phases of a Division I lacrosse program. Support the head coach in ensuring the program is following the rules and regulations of the NCAA, MAAC, and Sacred Heart University Assist the head coach with the evaluating and developing a recruiting plan for prospective student-athletes. Assist the head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices. Assist the head coach in developing and implementing scouting reports/game plans. Serve as Social Media Coordinator. Alumni Management and Coordinator Assist the head coach in administrative and office duties including but not limited to managing/organizing team travel arrangements and fundraising. Participation in team and department functions, events, and meetings. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes Bachelor's degree. Four to five years of playing and coaching experience st the intercollegiate level, preferred experience and knowledge st the goalie position. Excellent knowledge of all tactics. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Impeccable integrity with a working knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Knowledge of Hudl preferred. CPR and First Aid Certified or the ability to get certified in a timely manner. Unusual Working Conditions Must have fundamental athletic skills to teach and supervise.
