Attorney (1-3 YRS EXP)

About us: Sobel Han, LLP is a general practice law firm that focuses on real estate law, commercial litigation, business law and disputes, and several other areas handled by civil courts. We are looking for an associate with 1-3 years of experience to join the firm. •NJ Bar required• The ideal candidate will be a people person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing top-notch legal service to our clients. Knowledge of landlord-tenant law is required as well as basic knowledge of court rules and motion practice. Knowledge of RE transactions or condominium law is a plus but not necessary.

Initial responsibilities will include:

Prepare legal notices and represent landlords in all phases of non-payment and "for cause" holdover evictions. Handle matters in Special Civil Part from inception through trial•draft pleadings, limited discovery demands and conduct trials. Represent landlords in summary dispossess proceedings. Represent clients in municipal court. A typical day may involve handing landlord-tenant matters in the morning/early afternoon followed by office time to prepare legal notices and to handle matters pending in Special Civil Part (including trials). As you progress, our expectation is that you will develop the following skills as an attorney:

Legal Research and Analysis:

Conduct legal research to support and provide insight to senior attorneys handling matters in Law Division, Federal Court, and other non-court related matters .

Drafting Legal Documents:

Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related material.

Client Interaction:

Develop and maintain strong client relationships by being a responsive and effective communicator, understanding client needs, and ensuring client satisfaction. The partners have an open door policy and will assist in out of office activities•seminars, dinners/drinks•to help cultivate a client base for the attorney.

Courtroom Representation:

Assist in courtroom proceedings, including hearings, trials, and depositions, under the guidance of senior attorneys. We offer a collegial environment and understand the pressures of daily life.
