Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Audio Video Bid Estimator to join our team in our bid division. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project bids for audio-visual systems by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and client requirements. Your expertise will help ensure our projects are financially viable while meeting the highest standards of quality and performance. Duties Review project plans, specifications, and technical documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates for AV systems. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope and technical requirements. Conduct negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing on equipment and services. Analyze electrical requirements and construction site conditions to accurately estimate labor, materials, and equipment costs. Ensure all estimates align with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and industry best practices. Prepare detailed bid packages that include scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and contractual terms. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating within the audiovisual or electrical industries. Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies. Familiarity with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup. Hands-on electrical experience or construction site experience is highly desirable. Ability to interpret technical drawings, including electrical schematics and architectural plans. Excellent negotiation skills with vendors and subcontractors to optimize project budgets. Prior experience with NEC standards and construction management practices is preferred.
