Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Auto Body Estimator to join our automotive repair team. In this vital role, you will assess vehicle damage, prepare accurate repair estimates, and coordinate with technicians and customers to ensure efficient and high-quality service. Your expertise will help streamline the repair process, maximize customer satisfaction, and support our commitment to excellence in auto body restoration. This position offers an engaging environment where your mechanical knowledge and customer service skills will make a tangible impact every day. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to accurately assess the extent of repairs needed. Prepare detailed and precise repair estimates using CCC and Mitchell. Communicate clearly with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines, ensuring transparency and trust. Collaborate with technicians and management to prioritize repairs and schedule work efficiently. Assist in upselling additional services such as vehicle maintenance or enhancements that benefit the customer. Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions for quality control and reporting purposes. Stay informed about the latest automotive repair techniques, parts pricing, and industry standards to provide accurate assessments. Experience Proven experience as an Auto Body Estimator or in a similar role within a dealership or independent auto repair shop. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including auto estimating software. Familiarity with a wide range of services such as auto body repair, transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignment, diesel engine repair, and vehicle maintenance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to clearly explain technical details to clients. Experience in auto service management or sales is highly desirable. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when necessary and maintain professionalism in fast-paced environments. Mechanical aptitude combined with dealership experience is a plus for understanding complex repairs like automotive diagnostics or mechanical troubleshooting.
