Role Summary:
The Automation Project Engineer plays a critical role in advancing our manufacturing capabilities through cutting-edge automation solutions. This individual will research, scope, design, implement, and optimize automated systems that enhance operational efficiency and reduce cost. Working closely with Engineering, Production, and Warehouse teams, you will lead automation initiatives from concept through installation and startup - ensuring seamless integration into our manufacturing environment. You may be a great fit if you: Have hands-on experience with robotics and automated equipment Possess strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems integration Can develop and interpret engineering drawings Enjoy managing projects from concept to completion Excel in team-based problem solving during installation, startup and operational phases.
Accountable for:
Research and propose innovative automation solutions to leadership Conduct ROI analysis to support capital investment decisions Design and develop new automation systems and improve existing processes Lead full-cycle project management of large-scale automation initiatives Oversee system layouts, installations, startups, and troubleshooting Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade automated systems Develop preventive maintenance plans and manage spare parts inventories for automated systems Partner closely with OEM suppliers to ensure optimal system performance Interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation Drive efficiency and cost reduction initiatives within manufacturing and warehouse operations Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards Maintain clean, organized work areas aligned with 5S principles Contribute to special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of automated systems integration Demonstrated project management experience Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (4-year degree) 2+ years of project management experience 2+ years of automation integration experience
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of standing work Attention to detail Ability to correctly wear and use personal protective equipment
