Job Description

Rosenberger North America is an innovative global leader in radio frequency technology with an international presence. Our products are used in wireless technology, telecom, test & measurement, automotive, medical, military, industrial and data systems. We are currently seeking a Automation Technician to join our team in Akron, PA. The Automation Technician is responsible for the configuration, setup, operation and troubleshooting of automated production equipment. This role is responsible for performing regular inspections of machine components, replacing wear parts as needed to ensure optimal equipment performance. The Automation Technician supports production goals while minimizing downtime and ensuring safety and quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions of the
Job:
Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: Responsible for setting up and operating a complex, automatic cable assembly production equipment. Monitor the production process and proactively identify issues to reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency. Support equipment upgrades and new technology implementations. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control system issues on automation equipment. Support scrap reduction, rate improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Assist in developing and updating documentation and work instructions, preventive maintenance plans and safety procedures. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety regulations and quality standards. Maintains regular, predictable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required. Associates Degree in a technical discipline (Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or similar) with 2+ years of experience preferred. 2+ years of experience working with automated or industrial equipment preferred. Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs and control systems required. Experience with robotics preferred. Strong mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting skills, ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints required. Strong computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint) required. Ability to reason through and identify root cause of manufacturing-related issues.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to work as part of cross-functional team. Ability to reason through and identify root cause of issues. Excellent analytical and creative thinking, hands-on troubleshooting skills. Able to handle tight deadlines, multiple projects and quick changes of priorities. Must be conscientious and detail minded. Accurate and detail oriented, quality and budget conscious. Team player, but also able to work individually. Effectively communicate in English with English reading comprehension. Knowledge of the IPC 620 standard and/or wire processing techniques including crimping preferred. Knowledge of Automotive Industry standards, including USCAR and IATF preferred.
