Automotive Assistant Service Manager

Responsibilities Assist the Service Manager in coordinating daily shop activities, and managing workflow to maximize productivity. Oversee service technicians, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and efficient repair processes. Engage with customers to understand their vehicle concerns, provide clear explanations of repairs needed, and recommend additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, or brake repairs. Support upselling efforts by identifying opportunities for additional services that benefit the customer while increasing dealership revenue. Maintain accurate service writing and auto estimating documentation; ensure all repairs are properly documented for warranty and billing purposes. Monitor parts inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of necessary components like transmissions, suspensions, or diesel engine parts. Requirements Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management and automotive diagnostics. Extensive mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, shocks & struts, alignments, tire services, oil changes, and diesel engine repairs. Hands-on experience working as a service technician or mechanic is highly desirable to better understand technical challenges faced by the team. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally. Proficiency in auto estimating software and service writing; familiarity with automotive repair procedures is essential. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
