Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Automotive Paint Prep Technician to join our dedicated service team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting by performing detailed surface prep work, ensuring high-quality finishes, and supporting auto body repair processes. Your expertise will help us maintain our reputation for excellence in vehicle restoration and refinishing. Duties Assist the Lead Painter in preparing vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, buffing and cleaning surfaces. Mix paint, primers, and other finishes according to manufacturer specifications and ensure the proper color match. Apply base coats, clear coats, and touch-ups as needed under supervision. Maintain the paint booth and tools, ensuring cleanliness and proper operation. Assist in maintaining inventory levels of paint, primers, and other supplies. Follow safety procedures and maintain proper handling of hazardous materials such as paint and solvents. Prepare vehicles for detailing and ensure the finish is smooth and flawless. Help with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment such as spray guns, air compressors, and sanding tools. Assist with general shop organization, ensuring the work area remains neat, safe, and efficient. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Painter or Shop Manager. Requirements Previous dealership experience or automotive body shop background preferred Knowledge of auto painting techniques including spray systems, prepping, and buffing methods Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely and efficiently Familiarity with auto body repair processes Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude Ability to drive a manual vehicle preferred Ability to pass a background check and a drug test required Join our team to help deliver top-tier vehicle finishes while advancing your skills in a lively, supportive environment!

From $18.00 per hour
