Full Job Description Automotive Service Manager Overview :

The dealership is seeking an experienced and results-driven Automotive Service Manager to lead its Service Department. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring high-quality repair and maintenance services, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, solid technical knowledge, and a proven ability to drive performance, productivity, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, supervise, and develop a team of technicians and service staff, providing coaching, training, and ongoing performance management Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow, shop productivity, and optimal scheduling Monitor and maintain high standards of service quality, ensuring all work meets dealership and manufacturer requirements Manage the diagnostic and repair process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of work Review and approve repair estimates, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and profitability Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations professionally, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support retention and repeat business Collaborate with Parts and Sales Departments to ensure seamless operations and an exceptional overall customer experience Implement and enforce all health, safety, and dealership policies and procedures Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities to upsell services based on customer needs Monitor department performance and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability Oversee inventory management, ensuring proper stock levels of parts and supplies while minimizing delays

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automotive service management within an import franchise dealership Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, warranty procedures, and manufacturer standards Experience with estimating tools and dealership management systems (DMS) Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and motivating high-performing teams Strong business acumen with a track record of improving department performance and profitability Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to train, mentor, and develop staff to achieve operational and customer service excellence Knowledge of current automotive technologies and industry trends is considered an asset
